“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”

Desire, craving, longing. Epithumia. Do not fulfil the desires of the flesh. The flesh pulls toward what destroys. The Spirit pulls toward what gives life. Choose which you feed.

To pass by, to pass away, to go past. Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will never pass away. Everything visible is temporary. God's word is the only permanent thing.
