Someone, anyone, something. Tis. Scripture often hinges on this small word: if anyone thirsts, let him come. The invitation is unrestricted. No one is excluded from the call.

To know, to see, to perceive. Paul said I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Death. Thanatos. O death where is your sting? Death has been swallowed up in victory. Jesus did not just survive death. He destroyed its power for everyone who believes.

To give, to grant, to bestow. Didomi. God so loved the world that He gave. Giving is the language of love. The greatest gift is always the giver themselves.

Life, living, existence. Zoe. I am the way the truth and the life. Zoe is divine life, not biological existence. It is the life of God shared with human beings through Christ.

To be, to exist. Eimi. When God names himself I AM, he uses this word. Existence itself belongs to him. Ground your identity in the one who simply is.

properly, through (all over), i.e. around; figuratively with respect to; used in various applications, of place, cause or time (with the genitive case denoting the subject or occasion or superlative point; with the accusative case the locality, circuit, matter, circumstance or general period)

That one, that very one. Ekeînos. Scripture uses this word to point with precision, as in "that day" or "that hour" which no one knows. When God points, pay attention to what he is singling out.

To say, to speak with authority. Jesus said and it was so. When Jesus speaks everything listens. His words carry the weight of creation behind them.

Ask, request, inquire. Erōtáō. Jesus himself used this word when he prayed to the Father on our behalf. Asking is not weakness; it is the posture of those who know where power lives. Bring your questions and your needs to God.
