“So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.”

Good news, gospel, glad tidings. Euaggelion. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation. Not just a message about power. The message itself is power when received in faith.
