“But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”

One who takes secretly, cunningly — what does not belong to him. Jesus contrasts the thief directly with Himself. The thief comes to drain and destroy life. Jesus comes to give it — not just life, but life overflowing. Know who is at the door.
