“He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls.”
כְּרוּב
Cherubim. Powerful angelic beings who guard the holiness and presence of God. They guarded Eden after the Fall and their images were placed on the Ark of the Covenant.

Gold. Zahab. More precious than gold. The trials of faith are more valuable than zahab that perishes. Refined faith is worth more than refined gold.
