“That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.”

Substance, foundation, assurance, confidence. Hupostasis. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Faith gives reality to what is not yet visible. It is the title deed of future promises.

Lord, master, owner. Kurios. Jesus is Lord. The foundational confession of Christianity. Lord means owner. To confess Jesus as Lord is to surrender ownership of your life.
