To forsake, to abandon, to leave behind. Egkataleipo. My God My God why have you forsaken Me. Jesus experienced abandonment so we never would. He took our separation.

being struck down

Throw down, cast down. Katabállō. We are struck down but not destroyed, pressed but not crushed. Being brought low is not the same as being finished.
