“We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.”
χάρις
Grace, favour, gift, charm. Charis. By grace you have been saved through faith. Grace is God giving what we do not deserve. It is His nature expressed toward those who need Him.
παρακαλέω

To comfort, to exhort, to encourage. Parakaleo. The God of all comfort who comforts us in all our troubles. He does not just send comfort. He is the God who comforts personally.

To receive, to welcome, to accept. He came to His own and His own did not receive Him. But to all who received Him He gave the right to become children of God.

Empty, vain, without purpose. Do not receive the grace of God in vain. God's grace in your life should produce transformation not complacency.
