“How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.”

Joy, delight, gladness. Chara. The joy of the LORD is your strength. Joy is not dependent on circumstances. It is rooted in who God is and what He has done. It is always available.

Tribulation, affliction, pressure. Thlipsis. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart I have overcome the world. Trouble is guaranteed. Victory is also guaranteed.
