“(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.”

Righteousness, justice, rightness. Dikaiosune. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Righteousness is not earned. It is received as a gift through faith.

Poor, needy, one who works for daily bread. Penes. He saw the rich putting gifts into the temple treasury and a poor widow. God notices what the wealthy overlook.
