“And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;”
ὑπομονή
Patient endurance, steadfast waiting. Hupomone. You have need of endurance so that having done the will of God you may receive what is promised. Endurance is the last virtue between you and the promise.

Self-control, temperance. Egkrateia. The fruit of the Spirit includes self-control. Self-control is Spirit-enabled not self-generated. It flows from surrender not willpower.
