Pious, devout, God-fearing. Eusebḗs. Cornelius was described as devout and God-fearing, a man whose reverence shaped his entire household. True piety is not private sentiment but a life visibly ordered toward God.

Trial, test, temptation. Peirasmos. God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. The test has a limit. God measures what you can handle.

Rescue, deliver, draw to safety. Rhyomai. God delivers us from the domain of darkness and draws us into the kingdom of his Son. He rushes toward the endangered. Trust the one who rescues.

Day. Hemera. This is the day the LORD has made. Every day is a gift from God. The right response to any day is rejoicing in the One who gave it.

Judgment, decision, tribunal. Krisis. The Father has committed all judgment to the Son. The one who died for sinners is the one who will judge them. That is both sobering and gracious.

Punish, chastise, restrain. Kolazō. The unrighteous are reserved for punishment on the day of judgment. God's justice does not forget. Live accountably.

To keep, to guard, to observe. Tereo. Keep yourselves in the love of God. Staying in God's love requires active keeping. Do not drift. Make choices that keep you close.
