“And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.”

Joy, delight, gladness. Chara. The joy of the LORD is your strength. Joy is not dependent on circumstances. It is rooted in who God is and what He has done. It is always available.
