“And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is? ”
καινός
New, fresh, recently made. Kainos. A new commandment I give you. Kainos means new in quality not just new in time. The new covenant is better in kind not just newer in age.

To know, to understand, to perceive. Ginosko. This is eternal life that they may know You. The deepest knowing is relational not informational. God wants to be known.
