“(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)”
καινός
New, fresh, recently made. Kainos. A new commandment I give you. Kainos means new in quality not just new in time. The new covenant is better in kind not just newer in age.

No one, nothing, none. No one can snatch them out of My hand. The security of the believer rests not in their grip but in His. And His grip never fails.

Strange, foreign, unusual. Xenos. I was a stranger and you welcomed Me. Jesus identifies with the outsider. Welcoming the stranger is welcoming Him.
