To harden, to make callous. Skleruno. Harden not your hearts as in the day of testing. Hardening is a gradual process. Repeated rejection of God's voice slowly closes the heart.

Revile, speak evil of. Kakologéō. Jesus condemned those who kakologéō their parents, and James warns the tongue is a fire. Words that tear down are never neutral. Guard what you speak.

Not a way among many ways. The way. In the ancient world, hodos meant a road that had been walked and proven. Jesus is not giving directions — He is saying: I am the road itself. Walk in Me and you will arrive.

Multitude, great number, throng. Plēthos. The early church was marked by a multitude of believers acting as one heart and soul. Quantity and unity are not opposites. Let neither be sacrificed for the other.

Not just a follower — a learner who becomes like the teacher. The last command Jesus gives is not go and convert — it is go and make mathetes. People who learn from Me, walk like Me, think like Me, love like Me. The mission is not decisions. It is transformation.

Day. Hemera. This is the day the LORD has made. Every day is a gift from God. The right response to any day is rejoicing in the One who gave it.

Discuss, reason, argue. Dialegomai. Paul reasoned in the synagogues, persuading both Jews and Greeks. Faithful witness is not passive. Engage.

properly, loitering (as a withholding of oneself from work) or leisure, i.e. (by implication) a "school" (as vacation from physical employment)

Tyrant, ruler. Týrannos. Paul taught daily in the hall of Tyrannus, turning a tyrant's space into a place of truth. God reclaims any ground for His purposes.
