Summon, call to oneself. Metakaleō. God calls people across distances, as when Paul was summoned to Macedonia in a vision. Respond when he calls you elsewhere.

Patriarch, progenitor of Israel. Iakōb. Jacob, the wrestler and the blessed, fathered a nation through whom all nations would be reached. The promises made to him still stand.

When Jesus teaches His disciples to pray, He begins with the most radical word imaginable — Father. In the ancient world, approaching God as Father was almost unthinkable. Jesus opens the door and says: this is how you come. Not as a subject before a king. As a child before a Father who already knows what you need.

Kinship, relatives, family. Syngéneia. Stephen stood before the Sanhedrin and spoke of Abraham's entire kindred as participants in God's unfolding promise. Your bloodline is not incidental to your story. Honor the family God placed you in.

Soul, life, inner person. Psuche. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul. The soul is the real you. It outlasts everything the world offers.

Seventy, the number of completion. Hebdomēkonta. Jesus sent out seventy disciples two by two into every town he was about to visit. God's mission scales beyond the twelve. Join the sent ones.

Five. Pénte. The number appears throughout Scripture in moments of provision and testing: five loaves feeding thousands, five wise virgins ready, five foolish ones not. What you have in hand is never too little if surrendered.
