“Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. ”

In Greek thought, the logos was the rational principle holding the universe together. John opens his Gospel with this word — not as a concept, but as a person. In the beginning was the Word. Before anything existed, the Word already was.

Honour, value, price, esteem. Time. You were bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body. Your body is not your own. It was purchased. Use it to honour the one who bought it.

Wisdom, insight, skill. Sophia. Christ who has become for us wisdom from God. Jesus IS wisdom. Every problem has a solution in Him. Every question has an answer in His word.
