“And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the Lord our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh–barnea.”
צָוָה
To command, to charge, to appoint. Tsavah. He will command His angels concerning you. God gives specific instructions to His angels about your protection.

the way of

Way, road, path. Derek. The way of the LORD. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. God guides every step of those who trust Him.
