“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

Holiness, piety, devoutness. Hosiotes. Created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Holiness is not religious formalism. It is becoming genuinely like God in character.

To create, to make, to form. Ktizo. In the beginning God created. The universe did not create itself. It was spoken into existence by a personal God who still speaks today.

New, fresh, recently made. Kainos. A new commandment I give you. Kainos means new in quality not just new in time. The new covenant is better in kind not just newer in age.

Righteousness, justice, rightness. Dikaiosune. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Righteousness is not earned. It is received as a gift through faith.
