“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Shield, large body shield. Thureos. The shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows. Faith is not just trust. It is your defensive weapon against spiritual attack.

To extinguish, to quench, to put out. Sbennumi. Do not quench the Spirit. The Spirit can be grieved and quenched by persistent disobedience. Keep the fire burning through obedience.
