“And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office.”

To anoint, to smear with oil. Mashach. The root of both Messiah and Christ. The Anointed One. Jesus was anointed by the Spirit without measure.
