“Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth–jeshimoth, Baal–meon, and Kiriathaim,”
צְבִי
The deer does not philosophise about water. It simply knows it needs it and runs toward it. The psalmist in the middle of exile, surrounded by enemies, uses this image — my whole being runs toward You the way a deer runs to water. Thirst for God is not weakness. It is the most honest thing a soul can do.
