“So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off. ”

A shout, a battle cry, a trumpet blast. Teruah. Shout for joy to the LORD all the earth. When Israel shouted the walls of Jericho fell. There is power in the shout of faith.

the sound of

Voice, sound, thunder. Qowl. A voice of one calling in the desert. God speaks in many ways. The voice that matters most is the one that points to Jesus.

To hear, to listen, to obey. Shema. Hear O Israel. In Hebrew to truly hear means to obey. God is looking for those who hear with the intention to do.

Great, large, elder. Gadol. God is gadol and greatly to be praised. His greatness is beyond all measure and beyond all comparison.
