“And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord. ”

Pierced, wounded, profaned. Chalal. To be fatally pierced through. This is the word used for Jesus being pierced on the cross. He was pierced because of what we did, not because of anything He did.
