“Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord God of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.”
חָזַק
they should become strong
To be strong, to strengthen. Chazaq. Wait on the LORD. Be strong. Let your heart take courage. God calls the weary to renewed strength through waiting.

To hear, to listen, to obey. Shema. Hear O Israel. In Hebrew to truly hear means to obey. God is looking for those who hear with the intention to do.
