“And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.”
רָחַם
To have compassion, to show mercy. Racham. As a father has compassion on his children. God's compassion is parental. Fierce protective tender and unconditional.
חָמַל
I will show pity

Spare, have compassion. Chamal. To feel pity and act on it. As a father has compassion on his children so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
