“Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”

Grace, favour. Chen. Finding favour in someone's eyes. Unmerited goodwill. Noah found chen with God, not because of his perfection but because of God's sovereign grace.
