“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.”
λέγω
To say, to speak with authority. Jesus said and it was so. When Jesus speaks everything listens. His words carry the weight of creation behind them.

To enter, to go in, to come in. Eiserchomai. Enter through the narrow gate. The narrow gate requires humility. Pride cannot fit through it. Only those who bow can enter.

Door, gate, entrance. Thura. I am the door. Whoever enters through Me will be saved. Jesus is not a door among many options. He is the door. The only way in.

Sheep, lamb. Probaton. Jesus said his sheep hear his voice and follow him. Stay close to the Shepherd.

One who takes secretly, cunningly — what does not belong to him. Jesus contrasts the thief directly with Himself. The thief comes to drain and destroy life. Jesus comes to give it — not just life, but life overflowing. Know who is at the door.

Robber, bandit, brigand. Lēistēs. Jesus was crucified between two lēistai, and the crowd chose to free one over him. Even in the place of thieves, grace was offered. No one is beyond reach.
