This, this one, this person. This is My Son whom I love. With Him I am well pleased. The words spoken over Jesus are spoken over you through your union with Him.

If, whether, that. Ei. Scripture's great conditionals hinge on this word, framing promises, warnings, and tests of faith. If you confess, if you believe, if you remain. The ifs of God are invitations, not uncertainties.

Servant, assistant, subordinate. Hyperetes. Originally the under-rower on a great ship, pulling in rhythm beneath the deck. Find your place in the crew and pull hard.

To hand over, to betray, to deliver up. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. The delivering of Jesus was the saving of the world.

Jewish, belonging to Judah. Ioudaios. Salvation is from the Jews. God chose a people to bring the Messiah into the world. His choice of Israel was for the benefit of all nations.

Now, the present moment. Nyn. God's work is not confined to history or prophecy alone; it breaks into the immediate now. Receive and respond to what He is doing today.

From here, on both sides. Enteûthen. Jesus stood before Pilate with soldiers on both sides, yet he remained the one in authority. Location never determines sovereignty.
