“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:”

Desert, wilderness, solitary place. Eremos. He withdrew to a wilderness place and prayed. The wilderness is not punishment. It is often the training ground for the greatest seasons.
