David, king of Israel. Dabid. The man after God's own heart, ancestor of the Messiah who sits on his throne forever. Lineage matters to God.

To come, to go, to arrive. Erchomai. Come Lord Jesus. The final prayer of Scripture is an invitation. The church lives in expectation of His return.

The one set apart and equipped for a specific task. Oil was poured on kings, priests and prophets in the Old Testament — the anointing meant: this one is chosen, this one is sent. Jesus stands up in Nazareth and reads Isaiah — and then says: this is Me. I am the one sent.
