“Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.”
חָמַל
Spare, have compassion. Chamal. To feel pity and act on it. As a father has compassion on his children so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

To kill, to slay. Harag. Though He slay me yet will I trust Him. Job's faith did not depend on favourable circumstances. It was unconditional.
