“Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the Lord’s firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the Lord’s.”
קָדַשׁ
he will set apart as holy
To set apart, to sanctify. Qadash. God sanctified the Sabbath. He sanctifies His people. To be holy is to be entirely His.

a sheep
