“And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;”

Not a way among many ways. The way. In the ancient world, hodos meant a road that had been walked and proven. Jesus is not giving directions — He is saying: I am the road itself. Walk in Me and you will arrive.

Child, boy, little one. Paidion. Unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the kingdom. Childlike dependence and trust is the posture God honours most.
