“For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.”

Elect, chosen, selected. Eklektos. God will bring about justice for His elect. The chosen of God are those who belong to Him through faith. Chosen not because of merit but because of grace.

Called, invited. Kletos. Many are called but few are chosen. The call goes out to everyone. The response is individual. Every person who hears the Gospel is being called by God.

Few, little, small in number. Many are called but few are chosen. The way is narrow and few find it. Walking with God has always been the minority path.

Many, much, great. Polus. Much fruit. Many witnesses. Great grace. God is not stingy. He gives abundantly to those who are connected to the vine.
