To draw near, to approach, to come close. Eggizo. The kingdom of heaven has come near. God draws near to those who draw near to Him. The distance closes from both sides.

Mountain, hill. Oros. I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD. Mountains are a reminder to look up not just around.

To call, to summon, to invite. Kaleo. Many are called but few are chosen. The call of God is universal but the response is personal. The invitation is open. Will you come.

Olive grove, Mount of Olives. Elaiṓn. Jesus prayed here the night he was betrayed, pressing into the Father as olives are pressed into oil. The place of crushing became the place of surrender.

Two, a pair. Dýo. A witness requires two, a cord of two is not easily broken, and Jesus sent his disciples out two by two. Agreement between two carries weight.

Not just a follower — a learner who becomes like the teacher. The last command Jesus gives is not go and convert — it is go and make mathetes. People who learn from Me, walk like Me, think like Me, love like Me. The mission is not decisions. It is transformation.
