Sacrifice, offering. Thusia. Present your bodies as a living sacrifice. The sacrifice God wants is not an animal on an altar. It is a life fully surrendered to His purposes.

Law, rule, principle. Nomos. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free. The highest law is not written on stone. It is written by the Spirit on the heart.

Lord, master, owner. Kurios. Jesus is Lord. The foundational confession of Christianity. Lord means owner. To confess Jesus as Lord is to surrender ownership of your life.

A pair, a yoke, a brace. Zeugos. The poor man's offering in the temple was two turtledoves, a zeugos of birds. Even the smallest gift, brought with faithfulness, is received.

Turtledove, cooing dove. Trygṓn. The law provided turtledoves as an offering for those who could not afford a lamb. Mary brought two at the purification of Jesus. Even the humble have access to God.

Two, a pair. Dýo. A witness requires two, a cord of two is not easily broken, and Jesus sent his disciples out two by two. Agreement between two carries weight.

Nestling, young bird. Neossós. As a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, God's protection extends even to the most vulnerable. Seek shelter under those wings.

Dove. Peristera. The Spirit descended on Him like a dove. The dove represents gentleness peace and the presence of God. The Holy Spirit rests on those who cultivate these qualities.
