“Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;”

to make replete, i.e. (literally) to cram (a net), level up (a hollow), or (figuratively) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or task), verify (or coincide with a prediction), etc.

Not a way among many ways. The way. In the ancient world, hodos meant a road that had been walked and proven. Jesus is not giving directions — He is saying: I am the road itself. Walk in Me and you will arrive.

To humble, to bring low, to abase. Tapeinoo. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humility positions you to receive what pride forfeits. Choose the low place.
