“And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.”

Desert, wilderness, solitary place. Eremos. He withdrew to a wilderness place and prayed. The wilderness is not punishment. It is often the training ground for the greatest seasons.

To tempt, to test, to try. Peirazo. He was tempted in every way just as we are yet was without sin. Jesus was tested in every area of human weakness. He understands your struggle.
