The Jordan River, boundary and threshold. Iordánēs. Israel crossed it to enter the promised land, and Jesus was baptized in its waters. Sacred things happen at the Jordan. Pay attention to your crossings.

John, Jochanan, "God is gracious." Iōánnēs. The name belongs to prophets, apostles, and the one who baptized Jesus. God's grace runs through every bearer of this name. Live up to it.
