“And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:”
κύριος
Lord, master, owner. Kurios. Jesus is Lord. The foundational confession of Christianity. Lord means owner. To confess Jesus as Lord is to surrender ownership of your life.

To cry out, to call aloud. Krazo. My God my God why have you forsaken me. The cry of dereliction is the most honest prayer in Scripture. God can handle our rawest moments.

To bless, to speak well of. Eulogeo. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Blessing God is acknowledging that He is the source of all good things.

Hosanna, save now, we pray. Hosanna. Hosanna to the Son of David. The crowd cried save us. That is what Jesus came to do. And He did it completely at the cross.
