“And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.”
ὄχλος
A crowd, a multitude, a mob. He saw a great crowd and had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. His response to crowds was always compassion.
