The one set apart and equipped for a specific task. Oil was poured on kings, priests and prophets in the Old Testament — the anointing meant: this one is chosen, this one is sent. Jesus stands up in Nazareth and reads Isaiah — and then says: this is Me. I am the one sent.

Origin, birth, nature. Genesis. James asks what kind of person you are by the face you were born with. Your origin does not determine your destiny. God redeems both.

To be, to exist. Eimi. When God names himself I AM, he uses this word. Existence itself belongs to him. Ground your identity in the one who simply is.

Betrothed, pledged in marriage. Mnēsteuō. Mary was found to be with child before she and Joseph had come together, though she was already betrothed to him. Sacred promise precedes sacred union. Honor the covenant before the celebration.

Mother, source, nurturer. Mētēr. Honor your father and your mother, a command repeated across both testaments. The role carries weight heaven itself recognizes. Honor her.

Mary, Miriam, beloved name. María. Carried by six women in the New Testament, from the mother of Jesus to the first witness of the resurrection. God entrusts his most sacred moments to the faithful. Show up.

Joseph, a name carried by seven Israelites. Iōsḗph. From the pit to the palace, from the manger to Egypt, God worked through every bearer of this name. Faithful obscurity often precedes appointed purpose.

Or, than, either. Ē. Scripture often forces a choice: serve God or mammon, life or death, narrow or wide. The either/or of the gospel demands a response. Choose.

Gather together, come with, associate. Synerchomai. The early church was marked by those who came together, not apart. Where you consistently gather reveals what you truly value.

To find, to discover, to obtain. Heurisko. Seek and you will find. The finding is guaranteed for those who seek. God is findable because He wants to be found.

Womb, stomach, belly. Gastḗr. Used of Elizabeth's womb carrying John, and of Cretans enslaved to their own appetites. The body's depths can house either new life or consuming desire. What fills you determines what forms in you.

To have, to hold, to possess. I have learned in whatever state I am to be content. Contentment is not about having more but appreciating what you have.

Spirit, breath, wind. Pneuma. God is Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, God living inside every believer. He leads guides comforts and empowers.
