“Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”
κατοικέω
To dwell, to settle, to inhabit. Katoikeo. That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Dwelling is permanent residence not occasional visits. He wants to live in you fully.
πονηρός
evil.

Evil, wicked, bad. Poneros. Deliver us from the evil one. The evil one has a name but no ultimate power. He operates only within the limits God permits. His defeat is certain.
