King James Version

“So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.”

κλητός
Called, invited. Kletos. Many are called but few are chosen. The call goes out to everyone. The response is individual. Every person who hears the Gospel is being called by God.

First, foremost, chief. Protos. The first shall be last and the last first. God constantly reverses human rankings. What the world considers great God may consider least.

ὀλίγος
Few, little, small in number. Many are called but few are chosen. The way is narrow and few find it. Walking with God has always been the minority path.

Many, much, great. Polus. Much fruit. Many witnesses. Great grace. God is not stingy. He gives abundantly to those who are connected to the vine.
