“And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,”

To raise up, to awaken, to arouse. Egeiro. He is not here He has risen. The resurrection is the pivot of history. Everything before it points to it. Everything after flows from it.

having fallen asleep

To put to sleep, to fall asleep, to die. We do not grieve like those who have no hope for God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.
