“Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.”

Lack, be without, need. To be in want means to lack something necessary. David says with the LORD as his shepherd he shall not lack anything. Every need is covered.
