“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Beginning, the first and most important. Reshit. In the beginning God was already there. Before time before creation before everything God existed and was at work.

Fear, reverence, holy awe. Yirah. The proper response to encountering the living God. It leads to wisdom, obedience and life.
