Life, living. Chay. The quality of being alive. The same root as Chayim, life in its fullness. God breathed chay into Adam's nostrils and he became a living soul.

Healing, health, a cure. Marpe. A merry heart is good like medicine. God heals spirit soul and body. He is interested in the whole person.

Flesh, body, skin. Basar. The physical human body. God became flesh in Jesus. He took on our basar to redeem it from the inside.
